Tip-sy through the Tu-lips...

I just finished my tipsy-pots project, and it was so very easy to do I thought I'd mention it here in case anyone else wanted to do one too. Here it is - About 5-1/2 feet high, I think.

Get some terra-cotta pots in graduating sizes and a hunk of rebar. Put the rebar in the ground, thread the biggest pot on and fill it with gravel (drainage at the bottom) and potting soil. Thread the next pot on and tip it, fill, etc. as high as you like. This one is taller than most. I've planted it with various creeping/cascading blooming plants and topped it with a creeping-charley. This is a good space-saver if you have only a little area to work with too, and can be taken back apart easily if you need to move it.

This is so cool. Something like this would look nice in our new yard. We're having to redesign the whole back yard from scratch and I am looking for ideas. Could put it on the road to the tavern in Bree... hee

Hi Tuile! It's nice to find things that don't require muscles of steel to pull it off. I was just thinking about you and your garden, too!

Bree, hah... You know, I have a friend who found a brown ceramic pitcher with the name of a tequila on it and wanted to plant something in it - she eventually designed a little corner of her flowerbeds as a 'booze garden' with some colorful empty bottles on stakes and 'boozy' plants like "Whisky Sour" hosta, "Champagne" irises and "Tequila Sunrise" million-bells. :-D

Oh, Prim! That is so cool! I may have to try something like that. My roses are blooming now and I have to mow today and water. Good thing I have this glorious spring day off.

Do! It's sooo easy, and looks so nice. And then take a picture!

The weather is just to die for here too - I'm so glad you got the day off. :-)
