St. Pat's Day
Mar. 17th, 2005 10:24 amHappy St. Pat's day to everyone - it was my grandfather's very favorite holiday, and I still think of him every time it rolls around. We started off our morning here with bowls of green malt-o-meal (ewww! say the kids, and laugh) plus green tea, dressed head to toe in green (I even have green shoes) and then got a mini-lesson on the life of Patrick before heading to school. I got to check the kindergartener's for green as they came in, so those who had forgotten could get a green sticker lest they worry about being pinched. They aren't *supposed* to pinch, of course, but kids are kids...
Technically, as a Protestant, I should be wearing orange but who looks good in orange? Not I. I like green, and have Catholics in my lineage, so that should be good enough. The shamrock in my kitchen window put out a new batch of blooms just in time for the day.
