As I suspected, there are a few who are having a bit of trouble with the announcement of the new boards - a couple who *cough* shall remain anonymous as usual in the center of it. Ah well. At least they are predictable. The rest are those who have low computer skills or are very young and are simply afraid of being left behind or shut out somehow, I think.

I've run around on the "test board" and it isn't too bad - a few annoying things that we can hope they'll fix, but my hopes aren't very high with Decipher involved, so we'll see...

I put in a request for a creative writing board and was told to hold that thought until after the intial ones are running, so it may happen someday after all.

Phew!

Busy researching the cgi-bin threaded mbs to see what's out there. I've already found a couple possible options for hosting an "old fashioned" mb on the Scrapbook - maybe just a "Prancing Pony" as the boxy format doesn't lend itself to casual chatter very well. I have no intention of splitting the community - more of an archiving thing, as that style of mb is our history. If folks enjoy it and want more, maybe we could add an old-fashioned Middle Earth too, we'll see. Depends how much bandwidth it pulls mostly. The administration of it looks pretty basic and we can keep the same mods then too.

On the housing front, we have the inspection of the house, and an arborist coming to look at the trees this week, and I get to go shopping for cabinets and paint and such - whoohoo! I'm not stressed about that part as I already did all that wrestling over color palettes when we redid the house we are in now, and I'm just going to carry my colors with me to the new place. Yay! Stopped by there to take some pictures to show folks but my camera battery was dead... phooey. It's in the charger now - try again tomorrow.
