Seed tray time
Jan. 24th, 2012 07:12 amSpent part of yesterday pulling out my plant light and trays of perlite, got it all cleaned up and all the little pots filled with nice, tasty dirt for what I hope will be a couple trays of sweet basil plants after a while. It looks so nice and productive once it's done - here's hoping... c'mon, babies, grow...
If enough of them live I'm hoping to have basil plants this spring for our preschool teachers and our pastors with hopefully enough left to raffle a couple and give one to our new neighbors who have just moved in next door. They're a young couple with a toddler and this is their first experience with being "in the country" (we're really only a suburban facsimile, being surrounded by newer development now). I see a certain amount of mentoring ahead (i.e. This is How you Can Fruit, and This is How you Trim Back the Grapes). Should be fun.
I love trays that have been planted, there's so much hope ahead. I can imagine them all alive and huge and green and perfect as long as they haven't sprouted yet.
