I'm going to go ahead and toss out this update over here, on the off chance of snagging a couple more entries before it is all said and done. We have a "Bad Writing Contest" going through the fanclub community - not 'poor' (ie no caps, bad spelling, etc.) but "Bad" which is an artform in itself. :-D I'm hosting it at the Scrapbook site, and have now completely given up on Decipher ever giving out prizes anyone even wants, hence I'll be sending out some funky little prizes myself. I've extended it to the end of September because of the number of entries being somewhat paltry.

So please - write badly! Especially bad poetry. I think.

Also, as you will soon be hearing on the boards if you still go there, (I've handed the hear-ye hear-ye thing off to Lith, as I'll be sorting out the theme day stuff) our Fall contest will be Dress Your Pet as a LOTR Character, which runs til Thanksgiving to give everyone a chance to get their pictures in. I rather wish I didn't have hard-to-dress parakeets. ;-)

And speaking of Theme Days, Aragorn's number has finally come up and in spite of his being rescheduled to Sept. 24-25, I expect it will be a good one. Who would have ever though he would be the very last of the Fellowship to get his Day?

Seeing as I'm the one running the contests now instead of Decipher, I don't give a rip whether or not you have a membership with them. Just come out of lurking and give me some good entries, ja? Ja. Yeah.

I have no pet, am uninspired by Aragorn, and don't have time to write good stories much less deliberately bad (though one or two have been rated such without my trying, LOL) but thank you for the update!

Sounds like a good time to buy a dog, name him Strider and write bad haiku about trying to paper-train him. :-D Hee hee...

S'okay - just wanted to be sure folks who might enjoy the romps weren't left out.

The Bad Writing Contest is intriguing, but I haven't any ideas! Though sometimes I wonder if my Boromir conversations count as bad writing...

Sure glad Aragorn was postponed, as I have an idea for a lengthy Found Poem for him. That's what's nice about found poetry, it's not as hard to do as an inkling, and you can use it for any character day. I do have an idea for an inkling, but I don't know if I'll have time to work it up, even with the extension.

No pets here, except our watchdog pooch in Pakistan. He would not stand for being dressed up, so I guess I"m off the hook on that one. :-D

Thanks for picking up Decipher's slack and taking responsibility for all these fun things ((((Prim))))

Thanks, Prim! I rotted you a little poem and emailed it to you. Hope it is awful enough! *snickers*

I wonder if I can get my cat to wear a hobbit-cloak? His name is Pippin, but he's got Frodo's eyes.... hmmmm....

Well, then again, I might try the Bad Poetry contest. ;-) Its been a pathetically long time since I posted anything on the boards-or anywhere else, for that matter (blush)
