Tip-sy through the Tu-lips...
Apr. 4th, 2007 01:25 pmI just finished my tipsy-pots project, and it was so very easy to do I thought I'd mention it here in case anyone else wanted to do one too. Here it is - About 5-1/2 feet high, I think.

Get some terra-cotta pots in graduating sizes and a hunk of rebar. Put the rebar in the ground, thread the biggest pot on and fill it with gravel (drainage at the bottom) and potting soil. Thread the next pot on and tip it, fill, etc. as high as you like. This one is taller than most. I've planted it with various creeping/cascading blooming plants and topped it with a creeping-charley. This is a good space-saver if you have only a little area to work with too, and can be taken back apart easily if you need to move it.
