Dancing Ladies Explosion
May. 9th, 2010 07:53 pmSkirts flying everywhere! Bells ringing! Complete mayhem!
Okay, okay... it's just my front walk going beserk - I adore columbine with their little ballerina skirts. ^_^
The iris beds are just beyond them, not quite opened up yet. The columbine is coming up with the forget-me-nots and bluebells as the narcissus, trillium and candytuft fade... lilacs, tulips, strawberries, dogwood, coral-bells, vinca and others jumping in the fray, irises, peonies and rhodies just barely opening to add the larger showy ones soon. My penny-ball is in this picture as well, the copper is just beginning to darken.

One of the tall pale pink columbines with a few attendant bluebells and a coral-bell wanting in on the action:

I was wading knee-deep through the daylilies to get to some weeds and just wanted to flop backwards into all of the soft green and look up at the sky, spring is such a fresh and sweet time. Didn't flop, but I did manage to sit in the sunshine a while and get some rhinestones glued to my blue and black 'outer space ball' for the garden, it's shaping up nicely.
