Squash talk
Sep. 27th, 2010 10:44 amI have such a cheerful little pattypan squash plant - the zucchini and yellow summer squash, who are *supposed* to be the ones that crank out the goods like there's no tomorrow have been really sleeping on the job. I mean, really - the zucchini has given me ONE zucchini. And it's even weird looking, not a proper bludgeon-shape at all. The yellow squash is trying to mollify me with skinny little squashes that I'm distinctly unimpressed with, but at least it has the decency to be embarrassed about it.
But the pattypan! Ah, such a happy little plant, not too much sprawl, lots of perk and everytime I go out there it is saying "Hi! Lovely morning, isn't it? Here, have a pattypan! Have another, so you can share. Aren't they cute? Would you like more?"
I want to be like a pattypan.
Off to fill my steamer to start juicing the concord grapes that are coming in, can't believe fall is nearly upon us.
