Sherlock and Tardis tea
Apr. 20th, 2012 02:45 pmOhmigosh, we just discovered Adagio teas - they let people make their own custom blends for other people to purchase and....Cara McGee is a genius.
SHERLOCK is amazing, he's all....ooooh, smoky and intriguing and fascinating and dark and addictive. Much better fresh and hot than after he's been sitting in the pot for a while, though. We've ordered Moriarity (Moriaritea?) next, oh yeah...ginger is good. I want to try Watson too.
And the TARDIS blend is jolly good too, with little blue flower flecks and speckles of wood in it so it looks like it really has some TARDIS bits in it. Tastes kind of like a nice blueberry muffin, if it were a tea. Kind of fruity, not unlike its inhabitant can be.
Now I want to get them all.

Date: 2012-04-20 11:17 pm (UTC)I'm not into black tea myself, but I like herbal tea blends.
The downside of course is that it would be international shipping, which probably means that I'll just stick to the local T2 teas anyway.

Date: 2012-04-21 04:17 pm (UTC)If you want to try some, I'd be happy to let you have it shipped to me first and I can send it on - I just checked and I can send 4oz. (3oz tea plus 1 oz. package) to you for $5.34 from here. The tardis one is like a fruity earl grey and probably not worth the extra expense, but the Sherlock is pretty unique if you like smoky things.

Contrast that with an outfit in Hong Kong that I just bought about 2 1/2 kilograms of beads from, and the shipping (international courier, but uninsured) only cost $12. True, Hong Kong is closer to Australia than the USA is, but... 2 1/2 kilograms... How much does tea weigh?
Compared to that, what Adagio is charging is utterly absurd.
Maybe they don't want to say that they don't do international shipping, but what they're doing is effectively just that.

Thank you so much! But no thanks. As I said, I'm not into black tea, just herbal. I can live without knowing what Sherlock tastes like. (Oh dear, I didn't mean that to come out like that...)
