There's no place like Home

My dear Rings fandom family is casting about for a new online home, it's so hard to go house-shopping with so many different preferences - not unlike trying to order pizza for a crowd! I do hope whatever is decided will be 'warmed up to' by any who are reluctant.

There's no place like home, and it is the personalities of those who gather that define the spirit and love in any place no matter what the decor. They are lovely people, I am sure they will find their collective way to a new hearthside where they can enjoy one another's company once again.

I also hope we can work together to choose something that will fit most of the needs, and that those who suspicious of the new destination at first will soon settle in the new place. I remember when we first moved from the original place to where we are now -- it was pretty traumatic, but people settled well after they got used to it! And now we're doing it again...

I expect I'll be fine in any place, but I do like the idea of them coming here!

It's true, how very strangely difficult it is to move to something that looks or behaves differently even if the people you meet there are exactly the same people. I've always found DWth to be quite welcoming, but whatever is decided will no doubt be fine once we adjust to it.

this is a good place. I set up a FB account mainly to keep in contact with friends far away, but tend to post more in-depth here or on livejournal. I would follow the fellowship here.

Likewise! I like how you can get around to replying when you have the time and/or inclination here instead of feeling harangued. I suppose we all have favorites and preferences, but my own does lean to something akin to this.
