ABC's rides again... sort of...
Apr. 12th, 2005 10:20 pmThe current meme bandwagon rolls by once again -
Okay, I admit I changed it a little, or a lot, but when it came right down to it my life was pretty boring to read with the given options. ;-)
A-- Aged relative: My great-great-grandpa was nearly 105 when he died, still missing his wife who passed on at a mere 99. Too bad they were through my step-dad so I can't claim those genetics!
B-- Bleah: I hate my last name. Hate it. No poetry to it at all. None. Not even an interesting meaning. Bleah.
C-- Crud: Having a high pain-tolerance and ability not to gag, I get all the icky jobs in the house.
D-- Dad story: Dad heard it was going to freeze and turned on the sprinkler so we could play in the amazing ice-encased yard in the morning. Every blade of grass was individually coated...way cool.
E-- Easiest person to talk to: My mother - we're clones...she's just not as weirdly humored as I am.
F-- Flying: My stepdad is a pilot and I've crossed the U.S. in a 4-seater V-tail Bonanza.
G-- Gummy thing: I once had a bubble-gum flavored gummy-rat. Nearly life-sized. Gummy feet are fun too.
H-- Hope: That one day I will have a sunny room for art, and time to paint.
I-- Indestructable thing I collect: Fisher-price little people.
J-- Joke: This guy walks into a bar. Ow.
K-- Koala: My first geegaw for my first car was a clip-on koala that smelled of cinnamon. He gamely clung to that rear-view mirror until he was entirely faded on one side. Still have him somewhere...
L-- Languishing degree: I have a degree in psychology and speech communications. And never used it.
M-- Moolah: We had very little of this in my growing-up years and my brother and I checked every vending machine and telephone we passed for change in the change slots. Sometimes we were lucky.
N-- Nicknames: Mom. Moooom. Mooooooom! MOM!!!
O-- One wish: A self-cleaning kitchen and bathroom.
P-- Placebos that make things better: very dark chocolate, very strong mint.
Q-- Quote: "Hi, Grandpa, it's Snigglesnort." (daughter to her grandfather on the phone.)
R-- Reason to smile: Sunlight shining through the rain.
S-- Song you sang last: 'That Song is a-Drivin' Me Crazy, I Gotta Hear it Again.'
T-- Time you woke up today: 5:30 am. Good thing I like sunrises.
U-- Undulating: I used to be pretty good at tango, swing and Israeli line-dancing.
V-- Vicarious tendency: I live out my own piano-playing desire through my daughter's piano-playing.
W-- Weird Event: Living in a van with hippies in the 70's, in Hawaii.
X-- Xenophobia: I will run from geese, assuming they are chasing me.
Y-- Youthful zeal: I still enjoy blowing soap-bubbles, with the little pink plastic wand that falls down inside the bottle and gets all slippery to hang onto.
Z-- Zesty food: Trader Joe's italian chicken sausages with chipotle peppers in them - seriously tasty without any garlic - yum.

Date: 2005-04-13 04:39 am (UTC)As for X - there is a park in "my" Portland that is known for its geese in the summer months. And since they have been relentlessly babied, they are a tad aggressive...meaning if they spot your sandwich, you're toast - unless you're a really fast runner. Lucky for me, there are also lots of trees to climb, and they know when to give it up. *sighs* Those were the days.
