Do the Twist....sort of....
Jan. 14th, 2007 05:33 pmSpent a good part of yesterday at a 50s-60s theme party for our church, lots of scarves, full skirts, doe-eye makeup, onion rings and grape soda. I discovered that I am
A) not brave enough to try a hula-hoop or limbo contest, though my kids are. I will, however, attempt the Hokey-Pokey and the Bunny-hop and be 'tapped out' by the judges on my attempt at the Twist rather quickly.
B) pathetic. Even with two large gumballs I cannot blow very big bubbles...have I lost my touch? I remember blowing the kind that would pop all over my face and get in my hair when I was younger, but I doubt any of my attempts were much larger than tangerines.
C) too old-fashioned for the 50s. I went through all the cds they had for lip-synching and had to conclude that unless they could go back into the *40s* I was a lost cause. At least it was shared by my daughter, who complained there was no Bing Crosby and settled for doing the Beach Boys with her siblings.
D)dyslexic. I cannot to that "YMCA" thing...I simply cannot. YCMA! I spell... YMAC! YCYA!
