Dumpster perspectives

Why is it when you rent a dumpster, it sounds and looks so HUGE - but when they leave it in your driveway and you start dumping things into it, it fills so *fast?*

Argh. Leftovers! And no amount of jumping on them will make it fit.

Second dumpster time... house on the market soon....

We've avoided the rented dumpster routine so far -- hubby has been carrying our renovation refuse two blocks to the office dumpster. He likes the challenge of carrying heavy stuff that far, likes to see how far he can get before he has to set it down for a rest. Hopefully we can avoid renting one when our work team comes -- even though we'll be tearing out the kitchen -- because between their tool trailer and the dumpster, no one on our street wouldhave a place to park, and that could make for some irritable neighbors. There are disadvantages to living on a street packed with row homes and no garages -- even if it is the historical district!
