Teeth teeth teeth

With three kids, I feel as if I am perpetually having to focus on teeth, and not just the daily "Remember to brush" and "Did you brush?" and "Did you really brush?" and "You didn't brush, what do you think I was born yesterday? Get in there...!"

It's the orthodontist to adjust braces on one yesterday, the dentist to get two teeth pulled for my middle one today (guess what? More braces in the future...and more braces! And look...!) - plus checkups for all three coming up yet again, and somewhere in there my own to tend as well.

I feel as if I am getting to know my dentist very well. Don't they ever change the posters on the ceiling? :-D

Ah well... It's part of life and maintenance for these disposable bodies we drag around with us for several decades. And on the good side, a chance to visit all the way over and back with my middle boy, who doesn't get enough Mom-time away from his little sister. Off I go again. I'll bring back little samples of dental floss and stickers for all of you!

lol, shades of yesteryear, my daughter Melissa, who is in Cambodia right now, works for a kids only dentist in Gresham. Theres a job I would never take. You know since you guys are there so often maybe take a LOTR poster over to the office for the kids to look at and feel "at home" with, when they go.

Boy does THAT sound familiar!!! We just did the whole dentist thing. Fillings, cleanings, extractions, etc, etc....

My two oldest are all done with braces, (still paying for those however) and I'm seriously considering NOT getting braces for Aaron. The other two were so bad about wearing their retainers and I feel as if I've wasted the money having them done. I'm thinking they would have appreciated them more if they had had to help pay for them themselves.

Besides, we really can't afford to do braces now anyway.

Yep, we did the braces routine -- in Pakistan! Thankfully, the orthodontist was in a city near my son's boarding school, and the school took a bus load of kids down on a regular basis for their adjustments. We didn't have to do all the running around -- but we still had to pay!

It starts early. I have the nightly "time to brush - get in there and brush your teeth. Now. Yes, now. I don't care. Yes, I have the good toothpaste. No, its not Mommy and Daddy's. Really. Yes! Look at it. Ok? Ok. Now brush. BRUSH! Back teeth too. That's not enough. Now smile. I still see ickies. More brushing. I know its boring. Just do it. Because I TOLD YOU TO is why! Keep it up and there's no story. NO story. This is ridiculous, just brush! For God's sake! (Pause) Yes, they're beautiful. You're stunning. Good job. Into bed, now. BED! ( replay above, except sub "bed" for brushing....)

Will you adopt me? I want to get braces to fix a crooked tooth that has devolved back to its original position. (I didn't wear my retainer--eek!!!)

Glad you can spend some extra mommy-time with the lad. I didn't know you had any other children besides Bluebell- you learn something new every day!
