There's a new girl in Starflower's class, and true to what she's been taught (always help the new kid), my daughter glomped onto her and they planned a play-date. I took her there this afternoon - turns out they are a foster-parent family with three more in addition to their own two, what a joyous organized chaos. The first thing we saw upon entering was an array of cubbies with names of family members on them - in the very center was a piece of paper on which was written in a pastel blue pen:

Welcome Home my Sweeties!
I have missed you!

Oh what a better world this would be if we could all be welcomed so upon returning to our homes.

awwww, that's lovely! And your daughter is a darling girl to befriend the new girl! Even if the two of them don't remain close, that's the sort of kindness she'll remember.
