Why oh why oh why are books so blessed HEAVY?

My library is moving to a bigger room just down the hall and I am so very pleased, more light, more space, a place for the little ones to have storytime - yay!

But oh golly what a lot of books and bookcases I have to move in the next month before school starts. Heaps and heaps.

Anyone have some muscle to spare?

They have scattered to the winds - our little congregation is doing its darndest to get things ready for school though. I'm all that's left of the original grade-school staff, so I'm also helping in the office and such... I may be able to scare up an elderly man or two if I try, but I think it's mostly going to be me and whatever I can get my kids to help with. :-P I'm hauling desks out to storage this next week as a starting point, one at a time (it used to be a classroom and I have to get all the "class" stuff out first).

what is your time frame? Lemme know some "moving details" I would ask around and try to organize a crew for a few hours of labor. I am not much use but I can see what I can do. I could call in some "markers" from those that owe me so to speak. I would love to help you.

OK, I made some calls and am gathering some roughnecks and Handcarts.

Good gracious me! I am humbled and amazed at your offer - I have all of August to get settled, so I was figuring I'd just putz it along a bit every day, one bookcase at a time... maybe once this horrible heat is past, beginning of August? It would be wonderful to see you guys - would you let me treat you all to dinner if this works? It's perfectly okay if it doesn't too...

If Melanie is in our area we still have 1 opening for 3-year olds, some slots in Pre-K (4 & 5) and may be opening another 4s class if there are enough 4s on the wait list... just so she knows. If she lives further away, she would probably need something closer to her home.

I shall secure dates and times for the crew, how many not sure yet, and we shall try and do it in one day.
I'll contact you as it comes together over the next day or so, and yes when it is a wee bit cooler...last night killed me.

If I was over your way, I would be sure to help you, Prim. Moving books is VERY hard work, especially with the heat wave heading your way! Drink lots of fluids and try to find strapping youg men to help.
