I tend to avoid getting into political views online, but I couldn't have said this better:

The treatment of Bush has been a disgrace

That thought shared for any so inclined, now we finally get to turn to other things, like the way the morning light right now is making the trees in my yard look positively glowing flourescent, as if each leaf had its own battery power going. My entire driveway is glowing golden with fallen poplar leaves and looks like something from a fairy-tale illustration. Amazing.

That was indeed well said. Thanks.

And thanks for that glorious picture you painted of light on golden leaves! Isn't it amazing what a little light does with that shade of yellow in the fall? I've got some trees like that right outside my window, glowing gloriously. I'm off for a walk to see what other light there is in the world!

I definitely agree our President has not received the respect due his office or the many challenges he has faced. He is at a confluence of history where a lot of things came to a head and the tide turned toward change, that doesn't make it ok or appropriate to place the blame on President Bush for everything but he made enough glaring choices (amidst the thousands of good choices and certainly good intentions) that it became too easy to pile on and deflect the blame away from other politicians and from our own responsibility as a nation of apathetic participants in our government. At least that has changed, now if only the taking of personal responsibility would join the enthusiasm we'd all be better off.

I've felt a bit of anger toward President Bush for certain of his actions but he is still the President. When did we get so disrespectful? Was it the shock of Watergate and Nixon resigning? If so it's time to rethink all that cynicism - it's unhealthy for our country.

I so love Autumn. Your yard sounds magnificent today.

The fall colors up here are spectacular too, especially one road in particular...yellows, oranges, reds, and even a splotch of purple. I can't describe it as beautifully as you do though. I love reading your writings about nature.

I know you must be disappointed about last night {{{{Hugs}}}} :( But one thing that Obama stands for so strongly is unity, as I do as well...so just let me say here that despite our political differences, I am so glad we're friends :)
