Well, it's a rare thing for me but it looks like we're meeting some others on Friday to join in with Portland's non-partisan 'tea party' protest. Seriously. This round of meetings will be 2/27 simultaneous at noon EST (that makes it quite early for us).

Just thought I'd post in case anyone else is interested in joining a group in their own area - the grassroots on this is gathering steam.
Some are listed here: http://www.nationwidechicagoteaparty.com/

Ooo, favorite movies time!

"Whose brain was that?" "Abby something." "Abby something?" "Yeah, Abby Normal..."

"Pirates of Penzance" has long been a family favorite. So long, in fact, that when we first watched it Meg couldn't say "pirate" yet and just kept asking for the "rat movie". LOL A local high school is doing it next week and we can't wait to go! You're welcome to copy the icon if you like.

Me too! (And my whole family. Every single line. "We lead a rough life!" "Ruff, ruff!" *snort* Watching that movie around here is like karaoke night.)

"Maidens! Quietly, men, down!" - "What?" - "QUIET!!!"

(Well... fairly sure. *g* My mom would die of horror on principle if I took up belly-dancing, for instance. But it is awesome how many unexpected mind-twins seem to find each other on the Internet, isn't it?)

Belly-dancing has gotten such a terrible reputation from crazy things like "I Dream of Jeannie" *rolls eyes* It's really not that bad, I wish I could take you and your mom along to one of my classes where it's more like a women's pajama party in mood than anything questionable. :-) I taught some to the ladies at my church women's retreat this past week and they just loved it.

Ah well! I understand, I've seen that look of subdued horror on some faces already, hah... and truly if I was doing anything like a Hollywood-style cabaret bellydance in pink gauze (you can see the image flickering through their minds) I would be horrified too.
