My son - my teenaged son, you know...the kind who slumps about in the exact same set of clothing day after day and would continue on until it fell from his body in rotting rags unless he were forced to change, the kind that, given a chance to speak to his grandmother on the phone abruptly regresses to caveman-like grunting...

He Cooked Dinner!! Cheerfully! By Himself!

True, it was 'only french toast' but There is Hope. Someday when my possible grandkids are all going "Daaaaad, we're huuuuuungry!" he can whip out a spatula and cry "Never fear! All is NOT lost just because mom isn't here, I can make FRENCH TOAST!"

*confetti*

Amen! I have pictures from his attempt at brownies - he found out the hard way what happens if you pour all the dry ingredients into the mixer (on high!) too quickly, haha!

My brother's about that age, too, but he never passes up a chance to make us quesadillas. :D

Ah, a young man with skills! How fun to catch a glimpse of a less teen-ish future - not that those years don't have their own rewards. But what is it with the affinity men seem to have with breakfast-type food? LOL

I've wondered that myself, seems they always go for the frozen waffles and little shriveled sausage-things before anything else. My dad always cooked the eggs. *shrugs*

He also claims it gives him "cooking xp"- too much Runescape, m'boy!

Nah, he's a good sport and has a great sense of humor - He read it and thought it was 'so true' - especially about his clothing. Now he's saying he wants his sisters to document his cooking so they can speed it up and make a music video with the hamster-dance. XD
