I did it, I went for a paid account at DW, and I'm so haaaappy! I am having a spaz of icon love for getting to finally have more than 15 of them, though I severely fail at icon etiquette at the moment because I fell into the lazy habit of snagging anything that caught my fancy or amused me for a while and neglected to note who made them. SO - here be my disclaimer...if you think you made something I have and would like credit, just send me a pm and I'll be happy to add that info, or if you take offense at my even having it for reasons of your own, I'll replace it with something else, no prob.

Celebrated by making a small number myself, stayed up too late doing it, like I'll ever learn not to stay up too late. That's what caffeine is for, right? Consider the retro fifties slogan - COFFEE! Because you can sleep when you're dead. Which is ironic because all I've had is tea, but hey... Now I want to work on a custom mood set.

I'm switching some of my communities where I find good replacements (turned off LJ's 'gardening' and turned on DW's version of same, for instance) but still keeping most of the home-fire burning over there for now.

I haven't considered a paid account here as yet, but I do love having a paid account at LJ, so if I get really settled in over here, I might just have to look into that. There's something about having lots of icons, even if I don't use them much, that makes me feel very happy! :-D

I'm surprised at myself at how much I'm liking it - and happy that by it being DW instead of LJ I even got to keep my own "buy only American" choice going. AND I want to support DW financially as they take on the strain of the thousands and thousands of LJ refugees, the bulk of which are only using freebie accounts at this point.

I've met a nice batch of brand new shiny people and finally gotten about to weeding a few from my LJ list that I can't even remember who they are and they either never post anyway or when they do it's all profane, invective-filled and/or negative. A bit like cleaning and moving and unpacking and hanging up pictures then inviting all the people you like over for a housewarming while secretly being pleased at leaving behind the neighbors from the old neighborhood whom you never really liked but associated with out to politeness. Does that make sense?

It makes total sense! That's what it's like for me, too, though I'm still looking at my packed boxes, wondering where to put things when I get around to unpacking them, while I am getting ready for my housewarming

I have to say -- your icon!!! I love it!!! I am very much a fan of that anime, in case you didn't know, hehe! Is it sad or is it cool that I know pretty much what episode that scene is from? ;-)

Yay! I'm always happy to see people getting paid accounts and supporting the site (when they can afford it). I need to find some more icons since I decided to re-up for another year as well.

Wow! Quickly moved to the paid account! I bought one when I first joined up, but I still don't use this blog regularily (although if LJ keeps showing signs of wackiness, I might, but I'd hate to abandon my permenant account).

Not going back to LJ...nope. As another chap put it, I don't like being treated as a commodity to buy and sell. I'll be popping in over there for a handful of community things unless/until equivalents pick up here - really enjoying the comparative responsiveness and friendliness of the folks here.
