primsong: sunrise over Haleakala (clouds)
[personal profile] primsong
Being one of those people who needs quiet time and (even better) "alone time" to recharge from the demands of life, the universe and everything I am often frustrated by how rarely truly *alone* ever happens.  This is one of those rare days when my DH is out of town and the kids are in school and I don't have to be anywhere at all.  I am almost agog over this mysterious shiny sunlight-through-clouds opening of nothingness and am soaking it up like a dry sponge.

Ahhhh.

Made one of those "chocolate cake in a mug" microwave oblongs of self-indulgent chocolatey chocolateness to celebrate, along with a pot of tea.  Painted a bit, glued a chair that's been in need of gluing for a long time, watered plants... Puttering on small things and not being interrupted is an opulent delight.  I could get used to this.

Are you a "I vant to be aloooone" person, or someone who is recharged by being in the middle of activity?

I am completely like that. I like people, but I need time away from everything but my pets to recharge!

I love how you describe cats! I feel the same way, particularly Leo. He's my recharger. :-D

yeeeeeeeeeees. Kitties are soothing. ;-;

(well except when they're in the mood to knock things over, chew on your stuff and pounce on you and bite)

I'm an extreme introvert. I have to stake out alone time (and my family knows better than to bother me during alone time). I usually spend it reading.

I'm definitely a quiet time alone sort of person. [personal profile] battlehamster is a needs to be around lots of people sort of person. So he goes off to weekend live roleplaying events from time to time and the cats and I stay at home and all of us are very happy that way :)

I REQUIRE alone time. I need people time too. If I don't get a bit of both I end up bananas.

I don't really understand extroverts who need to be surrounded by noise & activity all the time though, it just wears me out.

I love your icon - so true! ^_^
8-)
I made it myself, because it is indeed so true. Fic is for fun. There are two kinds of poetry I write; public poetry (mostly fannish) and private poetry. The private poetry is very cathartic. And art/craft turns on the part of my mind that isn't busy-busy-busy, which is also good.

I remember reading about an inn at the beach here that is just for writers, everything is literature themed and there's no tvs or radios.
Oh, that sounds like a lovely place to go.
