I've never been able to think of anything to do for New Years. I dislike resolutions because they invariably fall by the wayside, and I never cared for the taste of alcohol, plus I'm a morning person so I'm a zombie after 10pm. The most exciting thing that happens is putting up a new calendar.

Do you do anything that's more interesting? I'm open to suggestions!

Oh right, I have a new calendar. ;-)

I've never had good luck with the usual "I will go to the gym" sorts of resolutions, but these last couple years I've done very open-ended resolutions - "be less of a doormat", "seek more balance in my life", with success or failure not to be measured till the end of the year - and those have worked out very well for me. This year I'm going to try to take better care of myself (especially with regard to physical, mental, and emotional health) and learn how not to take on more than I can handle.

Well, we ended up playing Settlers of Catan, watching the Sydney fireworks on my niece's laptop, and then finishing the game.
