Spent most of the day spreading barkdust and weeding at the "old" house - ugh! I can tell I need to do this sort of thing more often, this old body really feels it after I've been shoveling and hauling. But you know, I will never get used to the miracle of barkdust. It has an amazing ability to take a yard that is kinda blah and make it look so... freshened up and bright! Now for a rather prolonged round of raking and a little trim, and it'll be ready for whatever it may face.
I already have my old neighbors coming to me with concern - "Be sure you sell it to nice folks!" said the elderly gentleman next door. That's my main worry about the idea of selling it also - what if we saddle our wonderful neighbors, great folks to live in the same cul-de-sac with for over a decade with some sort of horrid neighbor?
I am relying on the fact it has a climbing structure and swingset to pull in a younger family with kids. They're usually 'pretty safe' for neighbors, as they're too busy raising their kids to do too much harm.
Very strange to think it may be the last time I tend those flowerbeds.
On a side-note, in case it interests anyone here, a new chapter of Nothing of Note is up at the Red Book, and the Scrapbook also.
