Instragram must be truly on its way out as A Thing, I can tell because I finally learned how to use it. When us old folks arrive, the Cool Factor falls into the basement, but hey - I did posts of each of the expected topics (nature, cat, dessert).

Gerrout o' Instragram ya whippersnappers, go on and do that next Thing in your virtual cardboard clubhouse before we follow you again!

Oh, hey. I've got an Instagram.

I'm not entirely sure what to do with it, but I post stuff sometimes. Mostly art. If you want to know who I am, PM me and I'll give you my handle. Or don't and I will have forgotten all about it by this time tomorrow, because I'm like a Geico commercial that way: "If you're a working professional artist, you forget all the things. It's what you do."

I think I must have joined instagram about the same time. The message board I follow where people post pictures of themselves, their pets, children or friends (and then a community of artists draw them) wanted to know if I had an instagram account they could tag me in a post to feature one of my portraits... but I couldn't for the longest time figure out how to GET an account with instagram. Through some persistent searching I found that it was ONLY for smart phones and tablets. And here I was with a 20th century makes-phone-calls-only cell! LOL I held out for a long time and then figured out how to sign up using my tablet. I use it only for sharing art, so it's public. (@the_tinidril) I know I'm late to the party when my username is already taken :P Look me up on instagram if you want.

That art exchange website is called Reddit Gets Drawn. It's a wonderful way to keep skills sharp without having to resort to infringing copyrights or privacy of random people in Google images, heh. Submitters give permission for their photos to be used for making art and the artists give their permission for their art to by used (though not sold) by the photo submitters.

You do have to be careful on Reddit, though, it is populated the the crass, crude, and lots of trolls ;)

But not the /r/redditgetsdrawn crowd. This "subreddit" is tightly monitored, no trolls are allowed to operate there. It's a safe place to surf. They do allow users to post nude photos, but those are clearly marked with NSFW (Not Safe For Work) and the photos do not show up in thumbnails, you have to go out of your way to click through to see them. I usually check them out to see if there is something tasteful because it's rare to have the opportunity to do figure drawing. I did find one that was really lovely, and you can see it on my deviantART gallery in the Reddit Gets Drawn folder.

Also, I posted an idea for saving an archive of the FoMe forums. I can't work up an example until I get my website login sorted, hopefully that will we in a day or two.
