All nighters
Nov. 1st, 2008 08:00 amGot up extra early and picked my kids and their friends up from an all-night skating party at the local rink. Came in to find the staff all looking like zombies as they staggered along, the DJ valiantly trying to sound peppy as he announced the last song for our all night party! and a grand total of one skater still making it slowly around the rink.
A real determined trooper, my girl.
The remaining ones all alternated between hyper telling me about the events of the evening and slumping/staring from fatigue while she stubbornly skated that last song, then off we went - they're all conked out now, one conked on the front steps en route to the house and had to be coaxed in, even with it raining on her.
I remember doing this sort of thing when I was a teen, but it takes me longer and longer to 'bounce back' the older I get. Kind of annoying, really. DH still has to 'pull an all-nighter' from time to time when deadlines hit with his work, but it's harder for him than it used to be too.
Any of you still do all-nighters? How does it affect you? Or maybe you are one of those eternally youthful energetic folks?
