With my camera battery finally charged, I waited for a rainshower to pass and as soon as the sun came out tossed my youngest into the car and we drove over to the "new" house. I took a handful of pictures - all landscaping suggestions welcome, whether practical or no!

I tossed them onto my picturepage, so go here and then ignore all the other stuff - click on the house and you can go through all of them from there.

Prim, what a great place!

I checked out your photos - you really got lucky, the grounds are gorgeous! I definitely agree with the screening with bushes on the back of the property where it abuts the neighbors - not only for privacy, but in keeping with the other plant life in the yard. A little tidying of the garden area and it looks like you could actually have a walk-around garden, with a stone path, a fountain, and ...oops, sorry. Thats MY dream garden! And changing the windows will completely alter the look of the home. Are you going to stay with a redwood-y look, or go lighter or shingled? I think a cream with darker red accents would look beautiful, but thats just me. All you need is a picket fence! Just gorgeous, Prim - I'm so glad for you!

Your dream garden sounds like my dream garden - I hope I can at least have a nice birdbath out there, if not a fountain in time. Yes, a path! Oooo - would love a path.

The siding isn't as dark as it looks in the pictures - more of a cedar than redwood, so I don't mind it for now. It's nice to not have to paint the exterior!

The more we think on it, the more likely we are going to put in something fluffy and bushy down by the rv's for starters - tinidril's hubby may be a help for us there, with his organic gardening know-how. The tall houses are partly screened by the garage, so they'll have to wait just a bit.

I like making this a community thing - it's more fun than figuring it all out by myself.

Thank you! Looking at your handle, have you ever worked with real roses? I've never had one before, so I'll have to read up on how to care for them. How I wish everyone could come have a moot there, once it's fixed up!

Do I have roses ? LOL, my garden is full of them. My handle actually has a double meaning. See my icon ? This was one of my last years beauties. If I can be of any assistance just email me. I too hope we would meet some day !

Thanks, Rowantwig - I appreciate it! I guess I do remember his mentioning having one in the past, now that you point it out. :-)
