Pete and Repeat go in a boat....
Mar. 28th, 2006 11:12 pmMy kids dragged/begged/whined me into going to Blockbuster today, an almost unheard of event in our house - Spring Break and all that. The kid movies they wanted were both already gone, so we were left drifting up and down the aisles of questionable and odd and cheesy looking for something worth seeing that wouldn't be too much of a gamble for the kids and not too idiotic for the grownups.
We ended up with Groundhog Day, which is sort of a movie version of my "books I intend to get around to reading because everyone always refers to them." I have heard of this show so many times, but never did get to see it until tonight - We were honestly all wondering if he ever *would* escape that day.
I've had days that felt like that - thankfully not for that long though. Time loops are such fun for writers. Have you ever been tempted to write a tale with a loop in it? Deja vu!

Date: 2006-03-29 08:10 am (UTC)The school soap opera is getting a much-needed one week to cool off and think during Spring Break. In the meantime, we're trying very hard to get the school bus fixed before school starts again on Monday, lest it add to the angst - the bus breaking down doesn't need to become a poster child for all the grumblers. Last I heard several of our teachers may not come back - sigh... we love 'em, BUT we can always hire more teachers (we always have a few new ones each year anyway), it's the parents bringing back the kids that will say whether or not the school has to pull back next year. :-/ Wish this hadn't happened so close to enrollment time.

Date: 2006-03-29 03:28 am (UTC)I haven't considered writing somthing like it, exactly, but I have spent countless hours fantasizing about the stuff I would learn and get done if I was given a practically endless amount of time that nobody else had!
Hmm, let me see...Ballroom Dancing, ice skating, violin, and Italian leap to mind. At the very least I would whip out my novel in this "day."
Maybe if I spent less time fantasizing and more time following my dreams I would be saying:
Perchè sì! L'artista che ha giocato questa musica è me! Pleased che avete apprezzato il mio ballo. Era niente! Grazie per la medaglia di oro!
LOL, gotta love Google tranlsator. Its the next best thing to a time turner.
