Holy cow. They caught one!

A colossal squid... fer real... MAN that thing is big, 33 ft. and over 900 lbs. That's a heck of a lot of squiddiness.

Just thought you might find it interesting too!

'It's a shame it was killed by the process. Wouldn't it be mindblowing to see one in the national aquarium swimming around?'

Yes, it's so sad that deep-sea creatures like that can't survive being hauled to the surface... it would be really cool to see them alive.

OTOH it might be just as well for the aquarium that they don't have to worry about feeding the thing! ;-)

That's a good point! LOL! I imagine a creature that size would eat a significant portion of the budget. But still, it would be so fascinating to be able to observe it.

I was a bit baffled receiving a comment on a comment I made in 2007, but with a bit of poking about I see you and Prim both posted your LJ comment rankings. They are interesting to explore, aren't they? Is that what you were up to? If so, thank you so much for taking the time!

I see we have a few good folk and fandoms in common. I'd welcome a mutual friending if you're up for it! :)

Yeah, actually I've been sick in bed and reading through Prim's archives from the beginning, since I've run out of her Whofic to read! *g* She's such an amazing writer, on any topic.

I haven't yet figured out how to read comments by a specific person all over LJ, if one can even do it. It'd be fun, though!

That would be such fun and it's something I have been meaning to do, just pick a flister and read their journal beginning to end. You've inspired me, I think I will do that starting this weekend. If there is one thing I have learned since starting my journal, if you want to know a writer, read them. Chatting isn't enough.

My ex husband/good friend says that he feels like he knows me better after reading my LJ archives than he did when we were married. He was only reading my public posts since he doesn't have an account, so imagine what he might have learned if he was able to read the locked posts! It boggles the mind. hehe
