curuchamion told me I had to put up a 'retro picture' of myself - I'm sure I have more interesting ones if I dig a bit, but here's one that was convenient... I hereby provide proof that looong ago in Colorado I was a 7th-grade aged genuine treehugger.

I think a lot of mothers must fall back on giving their kids that sort of thing, heh... I never was fussy about my hair, I just sort of brushed it and ignored it though my mom would come after me with a curling iron from time to time. ;-)

Have you ever read the Green Lion Trilogy by Teresa Edgerton? The main character has a very interesting garden, and the more I learn about you, the more you remind me of her.

I have! I pet my trees and talk to them when I'm out weeding around them. Plants are so alive and responsive, it only seems polite. :-) I've never heard of the Green Lion books, will have to look into that.

They were orignally published in paperback back in 1990, and I think anything that's currently available elsewhere is a little overpriced.

We lived way up in the mountains there for a couple of years, it really was amazingly beautiful, if far-flung. I miss the aspen.

This was from when my photographer-aunt was visiting us, she had one of those uber-marvelous cameras with all sorts of fun lenses and things hanging off of it. We did an entire family photo shoot out in our 'front yard' - which was essentially acres and acres of trees and a mountain. Good times. And thank you - you know I'd love to see a Little Pip pic someday. :-)
