Quick, Igor, hand me the Butter Mochi!

I am currently rather addicted to this tasty and rather too easy to make butter mochi recipe because you can make a little pan of it in the microwave way too easily - almost no redeeming characteristics unless you can rationalize the calcium in the milk, but I'm posting it to Share the Love.
Butter Mochi Bars (recipe found in an old Maui cookbook from 1978 when microwaves were still pretty cool)
2 T. butter, melted
1 cup mochiko (sweet rice flour, I use Blue Star from the asian market)
1/2 c. sugar (I use half fructose, half splenda)
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 t. vanilla (or more - I splash it in because I like lots of vanilla)
1 cup milk (soy works too, but tastes different)
Put butter in your 8-inch square baking dish. Heat in microwave to melt butter, about 30 seconds. In a small mixing bowl, combine sugar, mochiko and baking powder. Add vanilla, milk and melted butter and mix thoroughly. Return to buttery dish and cook 4 minutes on high. Turn and cook another 3 minutes. Cool (if you can wait) and cut into squares.
I love to dip the gooey squares in sesame seeds - oh wow. This can also be baked for 30 minutes in a greased dish at 350 degrees if you want the 'old fashioned' way.
