I nearly completely missed the whole 'talk like a pirate' thing this year, but thankfully had a fine and amusing time playing around with the Pirate Translator - you can plug the url for any page in and it will translate it into "pirate" - try some of your short stories, especially if they have some good dialogue. Ha!

There was a big pirate festival in Portland, maybe I'll manage to make it over there one of these years. Did any of you have any piratical moments go by this weekend?

I've spent the entire weekend browsing for and organizing icons (I'm not done, either!), so the closest I have come to doing anything remotely pirate-y is bagging this icon from Meneleth (with permission, yet).

It's not fair - the first year I have anywhere to go outside my own house, Talk Like a Pirate Day and Halloween both fall on Sunday. *pouts comically*

(It is so cool to actually have an appropriate icon for random subjects! *hugs you lots*)

I talked like a pirate at various online places on Sunday, but that was about it. A festival sounds fun!

From what I've seen and heard, it's a bit like a Renfaire meets a county fair in feel with a definite pirate theme. Since it is held on the waterfront they even manage to have the occasional tall ship involved.

I didn't even realize it until AFTER I decided that musing_way's prompt was going to be 'by the sea'.

2 weeks in a row the prompt was particularly apt without meaning to be. Last week was the 69th week of the comm...a fact I had spaced until I went to add 'Provocative' to the prompts.
