...early in the mornin'....

You know, when my kids were little I could just lift them out of bed if they wouldn't get up.

Then they got big enough I could still *pull* them out of bed if all else failed...

Now they're just big lumps and I am reduced to yanking off covers, tickling and flashing lights.

What are some of your suggested ways of getting a teen out of bed when regular alarms fail to produce movement? My dad blasted us with the soundtrack from 2001, but I have other people in the house who still need to sleep. I can't do the 'natural consequences' because left to themselves they really don't seem to care if they miss school. :-P

I used to get a cold wet washcloth stuck on my neck if I was tardy at getting up. My mom called a few times, then if we still didn't get up, it was the cold washcloth or pounding on the edge of the bed right by my ear. ;-) My mom was not a large person, but she knew how to get people out of bed.
