...early in the mornin'....

You know, when my kids were little I could just lift them out of bed if they wouldn't get up.

Then they got big enough I could still *pull* them out of bed if all else failed...

Now they're just big lumps and I am reduced to yanking off covers, tickling and flashing lights.

What are some of your suggested ways of getting a teen out of bed when regular alarms fail to produce movement? My dad blasted us with the soundtrack from 2001, but I have other people in the house who still need to sleep. I can't do the 'natural consequences' because left to themselves they really don't seem to care if they miss school. :-P

my mom would sing cheesy camp songs at the top of her lungs when I was younger. After my parents divorced, there was a time when my mom left for work before I had to get up for school, so it was my responsibility to get up and go to school and I can't recall oversleeping very often. Never really had a problem with that. Once, though, I remember sleeping through my alarm and my Mom just let me sleep. I think she figured that if my incredibly annoying alarm clock wasn't waking me up, I must be really exhausted and deserved to be allowed to recuperate.

You can always try the squirt gun method, too. If the little one doesn't work, there's always the big 'uns. *eveel chuckle*
