What do you do with a Sleepy Teenager...?
Dec. 9th, 2008 08:55 am...early in the mornin'....
You know, when my kids were little I could just lift them out of bed if they wouldn't get up.
Then they got big enough I could still *pull* them out of bed if all else failed...
Now they're just big lumps and I am reduced to yanking off covers, tickling and flashing lights.
What are some of your suggested ways of getting a teen out of bed when regular alarms fail to produce movement? My dad blasted us with the soundtrack from 2001, but I have other people in the house who still need to sleep. I can't do the 'natural consequences' because left to themselves they really don't seem to care if they miss school. :-P

Date: 2008-12-15 07:38 pm (UTC)My mom would turn on my light and open my blinds to let alot of light in the room, and then she would come back and sit by my bed and gently speak to me, until I would stir and be like huh? and she would take my blanket off and shout at me to get up cause i'm getting late and to take a shower.
i suppose teh other thing is I can't sleep when the lights are on...heehee.
