Heh. I are "low flame" I are.

And in real life I got three chapters of "Five Little Peppers and How they Grew" recorded for Librivox, which helps lower my frustration that all three of the half-done stories I'm picking away at aren't cooperating at the moment.

I followed the link to have a go, but there were so many questions and I was so far down before I could tick one, I came to my senses and retreated!

I was impressed by what looks like a fair bit of accuracy for you there, though. You'll have to work on starting flame wars. You could go on a Rose/Ten community and start insisting Jo/Doctor is the only OTP

Or that drabbles are the only sort of fic... I'm sure you could come up with some. Just typing in caps lock will do it. ;-)

How is the bookselling going??

I've never 'trolled' but I can see where there could be entertainment in it, a bit like stirring up an anthill with a stick just to watch them all run around in circles. Which reminds me of when I was a kid and my brother and I used to blow up anthills with firecrackers... but I digress...I think...

Bookselling is off to a slow start, but I like it anyway - I only have 20 items up now, adding new ones every day or so, I'd like to build it up to where there's at least half a dozen picks in each major category. I took a bit of a gamble on 'success' and bought a box of boxes, the kind you can fold around a book to make it into a cardboard mailer for shipping. If it's a flop I'm well set for little Christmas present boxes for several years. ;-)

Speaking of drabbles and their longer cousins - here I was trying to work on a train-yards scene for Three and UNIT, etc. in one of my half-done tales and got shanghaied off into an entirely *different* Three & Brig story on the Isle of Wight - what the heck? I swear, that muse of mine needs a good talking to someday. Now THAT one is maybe a third of the way done too. Argh!

Eek, clearly we'll have to watch you, then! I suppose you could always write non-canon cake!fic... ;-)

That's cool. Good luck! And if you have something sensible to use the boxes for, it's not a wasted purchase anyway, so sounds reasonable to me.

Your fics sound interesting - I've been to the Isle of Wight about five times (including two as a helper on a summer camp for 10-14s. We tried out best to leave children there, but the police brought them back again...). Whereabouts? Alum Bay and the Needles? Shanklin or Osborne House or...? Yes, your muse does need a good talking to, because there ought to be some more One and Two fic, too. ;-)

I'm looking at the cliffs along the Military Rd., near Totland, etc. at this point - hard to find info on what it was like in the early 70s, but I have a friend who lives over there, so maybe she can help me out with some details. It was her talk of climbing cliffs as a child to get seagull eggs to eat because they were poor that first brought the setting to mind. I really hope I can get over that way someday, drat it being on the other side of the planet practically.

Well, the Isle of Wight is very nice. I spent most of my time on one side of it and after cliaming to know it well, can't even place the town. My experience, aside from my very long ago holidays, largely involves running round the island doing very mad things with 10-14s. But you have to have the Needles sighted at some point, or it wouldn't be IOW. ;-)

Advice taken! They're towards that end of the island, I'll work them in. :-)

Ooh, yes, do! ;-) (I still need a Two icon. Oh, if I ever get sucked into paying, it will absolutely be for the icons... *sigh*)
