My shiny new friend is a macbook, so I'm having to relearn some basics on how to get around my virtual neighborhood, - it's kind of like shifting between driving an automatic and a stick, I can make it go but everything is in a different spot.

I had a mac years and years ago, back when the SE was an exciting thing instead of a putty-colored doorstop but I'm a bit rusty on the whole Apple shindig.  Got Audacity on it today, now to figure out what's a good microphone/headset that will be compatible - I haven't recorded for Librivox for FIVE blinkin' years (couldn't believe it had been that long!) and I really want to get back into it now that I can take my computer to a quiet corner instead of being trapped in the most noisy part of the house.

Anyone have recommendations for a good headset for recording voice?

I just realized that with my kids going back to school this week it means I can at long last go back to recording for Librivox! I've missed it, but it just isn't possible for me to get clean recordings if there's anyone else about the house - it takes a lot of quiet to make one Voice.

Found a promising looking teen level book, Mother Carey's Chickens being done and snagged a couple chapters to work on this next week, so satisfying after a long summer hiatus.

Heh. I are "low flame" I are.

And in real life I got three chapters of "Five Little Peppers and How they Grew" recorded for Librivox, which helps lower my frustration that all three of the half-done stories I'm picking away at aren't cooperating at the moment.

As if I didn't already get myself into too many projects and distractions,I've been slurped off into Librivox ) Just wish I had one of those nice, deep resonant voices instead of the weenie one I have, ah well - I'll work with what I've got.
