I'm having flashbacks to old Runescape, remembering when my kids spent serious hours one summer managing to briefly corner the apple pie market there. "I have successfully cooked an apple pie!"...ten of them, actually. Ten into the freezer for special events down the road! Takes longer than virtual ones but they sure do taste better.

Was working at the church and noticed a steady sprinkle of people coming through our parking lot and moseying around the front, asked one girl lounging on her bicycle if we were a Pokemon-Go stop - "Yep!" she said happily tapping at her phone.

One person came up and took a photo of our stained glass for their Instagram.  Two guys came by walking a dog and stopped for a bit to tap at their phones.  Various people hanging out in their cars trying to look casual about it.  Heh.

Steve who?

Went to a huge neighborhood sale that comes around each year here, always a good one with a going-to-the-fair atmosphere, kids selling lemonade and cookies, people with balloons, tons of people and cars. Found a few things, but the best part (I thought) was a young entrepreneur who was holding up a hand-lettered cardboard sign that said

"Get your picture taken with Steve. 25 cents."

I asked who Steve was and he pointed (with worthy pride) to the garage door where a most excellent Minecraft Steve made of boxes awaited pictures. Steve was flanked by a Minecraft sheep, and nearby were two Creepers, also made of boxes.

Of course we got pictures. Love it.

Well, I'm past the halfway point for my radiation (yay!) - and one odd side-effect they never warned me about is rediscovering that I rather like jigsaw puzzles. :-D

They have a great one going on the table in the room I wait around in for my turn each day and it's been fascinating enough I go back to it afterwards and sometimes spend another 20 minutes trying to find "that piece" to finish "that part" I was working on when I was interrupted to go hang out on a radiation table for a few minutes.  Oh, and that one part of me is getting "a nice tan" as they say... It looks like a square of my body has been sneaking off to the islands and not taken the rest of me along - a notion amplified by the palm tree decor and the sign on the treatment room that says "Tropical Room".

Got through another chemo round, but my uncooperative veins were their usual troublesome selves - after two failed attempts at an IV, the nurses went looking for a big teddy-bear of a man they referred to as their "vein whisperer" - lol... He managed to get one going but after about half an hour they decided it wasn't dripping well enough and I had to get a fourth one done.  My arm looks like I'm someone who has an unhealthy affiliation with poking themselves, especially as I still have a 'burn' from the last one healing there.  :-p  Oh well!  Weather is turning to long sleeves anyway, right?

On the good side, one more done!  Yay!  This is a pleasant comtemplation.  Also, I used all the time I had to sit there to finally learn how soduko works and ended up filling in several of the little things.  I'm always several steps behind the fads it seems.

Nice quiet Saturday, been a while since I had one of those.  Just spent a good part of an afternoon playing Shoot Many Robots with my son, a game he got on his X-box - red-neck robot shootin', I enjoyed it more than I expected to, especially as you heal by chugging beers so we were screaming at one another "Drink a beer! Quick!" and enjoying oddball weaponry (my favorites were my gun that shot exploding garden gnomes and my Howdy Weasel pink backpack that added more beer).

Played around with some yarn and learned to make faux-dreads to add to a hair fall I'm experimenting with for dance.  Going to go pop some popcorn and watch Iron Man III with him now, since we're the only ones in the family who haven't seen it yet.  Hope everyone on my flist can grab a bit of downtime too.
